Multi-purpose belay device/descender with an innovative and compact registered design, suitable for use with double, twin, and single ropes, for mountaineering, multi-pitch sport climbing, and trad climbing. Intuitive and easy to use, it features a modular braking system for optimized braking with all types of ropes and allows for independent, self-locking belays of the second rope.
Extremely versatile, it allows:
- Very effective securing of the lead rope. The special body design allows for smooth, quick, and trouble-free rope-taking;
- During lead belay on multi-pitch routes with two ropes, it allows one rope to be extended while the other is blocked. This maneuverability makes Be Up unique in its genre;
- Effective and modular braking of the ropes thanks to the V-shaped grooves, specially designed for better braking control during fall arrest, rappelling and securing seconds;
- Independent, self-locking belay of one or two seconds of a rope partner (Guide Mode). The device's special geometry and the integrated anchor ring allow for effective belaying of one or two seconds with double and twin ropes with a diameter ≥ 7.3 mm. It also allows a second person to be belayed while the other person hangs from the device;
- the release and progressive descent of one second under tension even in a vacuum, without effort, with double ropes and twin ropes of Ø ≥ 7.3 mm. This maneuver makes BE UP unique in its kind and is carried out by inserting a simple HMS carabiner into the release hole;
- the ability to quickly switch from guide mode to first belay mode in alternate climbs;
- rappelling while keeping the ropes separated. The V-grooves allow for effective control of the descent speed without twisting the ropes.
Construction details/technical specifications:
- lightweight and extremely functional shape, for excellent performance;
- hot forged body, which gives it great strength;
- Integrated anchor ring in the body, easy to identify to avoid hooking errors;
- Plastic-coated steel cable, to avoid the risk of losing the device and limit its movement during securing.
